Heron with Catch | Dave Scott | Not For Comment On our walk this morning Liddy and I were graced by a young red-tailed hawk perching and posing for us in an oak tree above the hotel. Three Mallards perch on a branch under the surface of a pond. This Anna’s Hummingbird is one of several that make our garden their home. At this time of year, the color of the leaves eclipse the show put on by the birds in the spring. A wet windy morning found this hawk perched in our neighbor’s tree. A Northern Harrier perches on the end of a branch giving it a grand view of the surrounding meadows and marshland of Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge.
