Where have we been?
An engineering masterpiece, the Othello Tunnels cut through the mountain and bridge the Coquihalla River. Liddy was kind enough to pose on the rail above the river.
In addition to the hectic pace at The Home
, Liddy and I have been off on a couple of adventures. A few days in Central Washington where we visited Palouse Falls, Steptoe Butte, and Potholes State Parks. Last week we ran off to shoot fall foliage in Southern British Columbia between Merritt and Princeton.
This is one of the shots I captured of Liddy at the Othello Tunnels. The tunnels are located in Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park near Hope, BC (Wikipedia Reference).
The Aspen Grove Adventure is closely connected to the old Kettle Valley Railroad (KVR). Most of the moments we captured were within sight of the old rail right of way.
By the way, the KVR railbed is now incorporated into the Trans Canada Trail system which, in itself, is worthy of more than a moment. While I don’t expect to be able to complete the whole thing, Liddy and I will be exploring other parts of this great system at some time in the future.
As I get caught up on the post-trip work, and the homework, I will be uploading more images and ramblings.
