Time waits for no man they say. Especially if there is money involved.
During our Sunday walk, Liddy and I chanced upon this rezoning notice in a field along a road we like to walk along. It seems that Knutson Farms is about to convert this field from growing rhubarb, to growing warehouses. Bit of a shame really.
When I first came to walk through here, these fields were a brilliant yellow from the spring daffodils. This was when the Puyallup Valley was ‘Daffodil Capital of the World’ or so the sign proclaimed.
The daffodil trade has lost its appeal I guess as there are none left. They have all been converted to rhubarb or left fallow.
Now, this farmland will be paved over with warehouses and parking lots.
Such is progress, or in this case, economics.
