Sometimes, on our way home from the office, Liddy and I will stop at a little park in Fife. It is really just a paved path around a large retention pond. It’s a nice break from the commute and you get to enjoy little surprises like this one. It was standing at the end of the pond basking in the sun. At first, from a distance, I thought it might be a root or a log. Getting closer, we could see it was a bird so we went back to the car to fetch the new 7DmkII and the Sigma 150-500. First time I have used this combination.
I like the red feathers, and the detail on face and beak. Beautiful bird that is a native here in the Northwest down to California. Glad we could share another Northwest Moment.
