This little guy was dashing about and keeping an eye on this gaggle of photographers from the Tacoma Photographic Society the other day when we went up to the Johnston Ridge Observatory looking to shoot wildflowers.
We did find a lot of flowers, but they were hanging on to the north slope. This was, of course, the side of the valley we were on. Shooting the flowers was a challenge as there wasn’t much of a background, to my eye. I did find something that looked possible, but in the Mt St Helens National Monument, you must stay on the trail. Hum – pulled out the 150-500 Sigma. Not fussy about those results, but it set me up to catch this squirrel as he pranced about on the logs above us.
Another moment in the Pacific Northwest ;).
