Yesterday was a busy day! It started at about 1:30 when Leah called to say that she was having contractions about 5 minutes apart. Well, that’s a lot better than every ½ hour. She told us that the hospital suggested waiting until the contractions came faster. So, the phone rang again a few minutes later – time to move. We arrived at the Harrison in Silverdale at 3:00 – Kelly & Jes arrived at 20 minutes later, and Parker – well he arrived at about the same time.
Parker weighed in at 7 lbs. 16 oz. Parker stretches 20 ½ inches tall and Leah reports he is a voracious eater. Good lungs too. Know that personally.
Skylar was with us all through the excitement – a real trooper. She finally crashed in her seat as June and I took her home for the day. The amazing thing was that she came back in a good mood when we got home, and continued to keep that mood through the rest of the day. This morning, I took her to her Daycare school in Bremerton, and she was still a smiling wonderful kid. Little sleep, long day, and she keeps on trucking.
It’s great to be a Grandpa. It’s even greater to be the Grandpa to a pair of wonderful kids!
