This lobelia hangs out in a basket on our patio. Shot with my new Canon EF100mm f/2.8 Macro USM, it is a fun lens to use. It is also a challenging lens to use.
You will see, as I post more macro images, that the depth of field is very shallow as you get up close and personal. This makes it interesting as the aperture has to close down to compensate which in turn reduces the amount of light. This causes one to increase the exposure time, which causes the sharpness to fall off because the flower was moving in the slightest breeze.
But the challenge will be worth it! You can see the potential in this single bloom which is about the size of a dime in real life.
